Two weeks into the NFL season and there have already been tons of highlights. But, there have also been a ton of lowlights and storylines so far.

My three key takeaways following week two:

3: The Saints are legit

While putting up 47 points in week one is a little shadowed by the fact it came against the lowly Carolina Panthers, that was certainly not the case when the Saints went into Dallas and put up 44 points. Alvin Kamara looked like he was in his prime in week two, racking up 115 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground. He also added two catches for 65 yards and another touchdown. While the offense leads the league in scoring, they sit third in yards per game with 405.5. The defense is also getting it done, holding a strong Cowboys offense to just 19 points. They have also created five turnovers through the first two games. The Saints look like a team to be wary of in a wide open NFC South.

2: Caleb Williams is going to have growing pains

Back in April when the Chicago Bears drafted Williams first overall out of USC, he was quickly dubbed the savior of the franchise. However, through two weeks, he is anything but. The Bears currently sit at 1-1, following a 17 point comeback win in week one against the Titans, and a tough loss in week two in Houston. The offense has shown spurts throughout the first two weeks, but have yet to put a whole game together. Williams also has struggled mightily, as he is yet to throw for over 200 yards, and still awaits his first touchdown pass. While the line has not done a good enough job protecting him, Williams has certainly added insult to injury, making some questionable throws that led to turnovers during the Sunday Night Football loss. While there is still plenty of time for Williams to turn it around this season, Chicago might have to be a little bit more patient than originall expected.

  1. The Bills downfall might be a little delayed

When Stefon Diggs left the Bills for Houston, among many other losses for the franchise, people were ready to crown the Dolphins and the Jets as AFC East favorites. People said the receiving core of Coleman, Shakir, and Samuel would hold Josh Allen back. Well, following there 31-10 Thursday Night Football victory over the Dolphins, the Bills are sitting at 2-0 atop the East. Allen has looked like an MVP candidate so far and has protected the ball very well as he has just one turnover so far. James Cook had an incredible three touchdown game in week two, showing off the depth of the offense. With Tua's future uncertain and the Jets looking rocky so far, the Bills look poised to win their fifth straight AFC East divisional crown.
